The Portrush West Strand and Fun park-NORTHERN IRELAND THINGS TO DO AND SEE

The Portrush West Strand, on the Causeway Coast, is a very popular resort beach in Northern Ireland, active around the year, because of its proximity to all the action in the town centre and amusements. This beach also known as Mill Strand or West Bay. As this classically arching beach is beautiful, safe, and clean, it is Blue Flag certified. This beaching is very popular because it is an ideal beach for water sports like diving, surfing, swimming, kite surfing, paddle boarding, and wind surfing. Many tourist use the beach also  for horse riding, walking, cycling, jogging and relaxing. Having walk along the beach from the harbour to the rocks is nice experiences. There are lot of restaurants and pubs around this area.

If you are with kids, there is fun park in the heart of the town next to the beach which has a lot of rides and fun. It was formerly known as Barry’s Amusements.

FACILITIES:
A walkway along the eastern boundary beach is handy. If you want to get down to beach the Promenade has a few steps.
Car park: The west strand car park has enough parking. There are toilets, disabled parking, disabled toilets, and disabled access to the promenade and from there to West Strand Beach.  
Train: Portrush West Strand Beach is situated only a short walk from Portrush train station, where there are hourly services to Coleraine, where you can get connecting trains to Belfast, Derry and Dublin.
Bus: There is also a daily bus service that provide easy access to the busy seaside resort.
