CLIFTON SUSPENSION BRIDGE

It is the most photographed place in Bristol and the seventh most photographed in the UK. The bridge over River Avon,connecting Clifton in Bristol to Leigh Woods in North Somerset. It weighs 1,500 tonnes, spans 702 feet, and sits 245 feet above the water below at high tide in the river. There is a £1 toll charge to cross the bridge in a vehicle payable by credit/debit card or contactless. It was originally designed for horse drawn traffic, however, it now copes with 11-12,000 vehicles crossing it every day. Isambard Kingdom Brunel is its designer who also designed SS GREAT BRITAIN which is an attraction in Bristol.
