VAZHACHAL WATER FALLS

Vazhachal Waterfalls is a stunning waterfall located in the Thrissur district of Kerala, India. It is situated on the side of the Athirappilly River, nestled in the dense forests of the Western Ghats. The waterfall is renowned for its scenic beauty and natural surroundings, making it a popular tourist destination. Athirappilly water falls which locate a short distance from there, which often referred to as the “Niagara of India” due to its striking appearance and majestic flow.

The monsoon season (June to September) is particularly scenic, but it is also a great place to visit during the cooler months (October to February).Visitors to Vazhachal can enjoy the serene atmosphere, take a refreshing dip in the river, or go for treks through the forest trails. The waterfall is an ideal spot for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts alike.

  • Visitors need to pay a vehicle fee and park their cars alongside the road as there may not be designated parking.
  • Mobile network connectivity might be unreliable in there
  • The same entry ticket can be used both in Athirapilly and Vazhachal Falls
  • If you like long jungle trip, there is a forest route to Malakkappara from Vazhachal water falls
The railway station nearest to Vazhachal Falls is Chalakkudy Railway Station, (30 kilometres far)  and the nearest airport is Cochin International Airport ( 55 kilometres ). Vazhachal is easily reachable from Chalakkudy by taxi or by bus from the Chalakkudy bus terminal.  There is another route from Angamaly, the route is through an Oil Palm Reserve at Ezhattumugham tourism village. It is the easiest route if you come from Kochi.
