Waddesdon Manor

Waddesdon Manor is a country house in the village of Waddesdon, in Buckinghamshire, England. Owned by the National Trust and managed by the Rothschild Foundation, it is one of the National Trust’s most visited properties, with over 463,000 visitors in 2019.

Things to see.

  • House: Waddesdon Manor was built by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild between 1874 and 1885 to display his collection of arts and to entertain his friends. It is now open to the public and we welcome thousands of visitors each year who come to appreciate the exceptional architecture and art collections.

  • Garden: The gardens at Waddesdon are beautiful all year round and our garden team works hard to ensure that there are things to admire whatever the season.

  • Trails: We have four different walks taking in the gardens and wider estate, from 25-minute strolls to 1-hour explorations. Our walks are perfect for the whole family to soak up the beautiful scenery and dogs are allowed in most places too.

  • Aviary garden: Found a short distance from the Manor is the beautifully restored Aviary, surrounded by intricate raised ribbon bedding. Each year in spring and summer we change the plants and colour scheme.

  • Woodland Playground: Winding through the trees, our Woodland Playground makes the most of the natural surrounding environment and provides plenty of year-round fun for our younger visitors.

  • Wedding Cake tours in summer (18 Jun – 29 Oct), Tours run every hour between 10.30 am-4.30 pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and selected Sundays. Need to book tickets.
